Understanding the PMC MDCAT Aggregate Formula
Admission into medical and dental colleges in Pakistan (MBBS/BDS) is highly competitive. The Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) outlines a standardized formula to calculate your final merit. This ensures a fair and transparent selection process across all provinces.
The Official Weightage
The standard formula normalizes your scores into a 100% aggregate using the following components:
- Matriculation / O-Levels (10%): Your total percentage is multiplied by 0.10.
- Intermediate / A-Levels (40%): Your FSc Pre-Medical percentage is multiplied by 0.40.
- MDCAT Score (50%): Your obtained score out of 200 is first converted into a percentage, and then multiplied by 0.50.
University & Provincial Variations
While this is the standard PMC baseline, individual admitting universities (like UHS in Punjab, NUMS for army setups, KMU in KPK, and JSMU in Sindh) may issue specific notifications regarding minor adjustments, Hafiz-e-Quran marks, or tie-breaking rules.
Official Disclaimer:This calculator provides an estimated merit aggregate for general planning purposes. It does not guarantee admission. Always consult the official prospectus of the respective admitting university or PMC/PMDC notifications for finalized merit lists.
