How Engineering Universities Calculate Merit in Pakistan
Unlike medical colleges which follow a single PMC formula, engineering universities in Pakistan have their own unique merit calculation criteria. This tool helps you quickly switch between different formulas to gauge your chances of admission in top-tier tech institutes.
Prominent Formula Structures
- UET Lahore: Historically gives 17% weightage to Matric, 50% to FSc, and 33% to ECAT (conducted out of 400 marks).
- NUST (NET): Heavily prioritizes its own NUST Entry Test (NET). The formula is typically 10% Matric, 15% FSc, and a massive 75% for the NET (out of 200 marks).
- GIKI: Focuses almost entirely on their admission test (85%) and Matric/O-Level marks (15%), provided the student meets the minimum passing threshold in FSc.
